Information We Collect
We collect what you give us and what we need to run the app:
- Account info — your email and name, provided through our sign-in provider when you create an account.
- Food & wellness data — the meals, water, calories, weight, goals, and notes you log.
- Photos — the meal photos you capture or upload.
- Device & usage data — device type, app diagnostics, and crash and performance data that help keep bling reliable.
How We Use It
We use your information to run your journal, water log, calorie estimates, and progress views; to process meal photos and return food estimates; to sync your account; to provide support and fix bugs; to keep bling secure and prevent abuse; and to improve the app. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to show you ads.
Photos & AI Recognition
When you snap or upload a meal, your photo is sent to our servers and analyzed by automated and AI-assisted food-recognition technology to identify foods and estimate nutrition. Results are estimates and can be reviewed and edited before saving. Please avoid uploading images with sensitive personal information unrelated to food tracking.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is ever 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
Data Retention
We keep your information as long as needed to provide bling and for legitimate purposes like security, legal compliance, and resolving disputes. When you delete your account or request deletion, we delete or de-identify eligible data unless we are required to keep it by law.
Your Rights & Choices
You’re in control of your data. In bling you can edit or delete entries, and you can permanently delete your account and eligible data at any time (Progress → Settings → Delete Account) or through our Data Deletion page. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or export your information, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account or emailing support@bling.app. If you’re a California resident, the CCPA gives you these same rights, including the right not to be treated differently for exercising them — and because we don’t sell your data or use it for advertising, there’s nothing to opt out of. We’re happy to help.
International Transfers
bling may be operated from, and rely on service providers in, countries other than yours, so your information may be processed in regions with different data-protection laws. Whenever we transfer information, we take steps to protect it consistent with this policy.
Children & Contact
bling is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. We may update this policy from time to time; the latest version will always live on this page with a new date. Questions about your privacy or this policy? Email us any time at support@bling.app.
