Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and bling (“bling,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and govern your access to and use of the bling app and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account, or by downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Who We Are
bling is a food and wellness journaling app, built and run by an independent developer. We are a small, independent team — not a medical provider — and the Service is offered for your personal, non-commercial use. You can reach us any time at support@bling.app.
Eligibility & Age
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 17, you may only use bling with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. bling is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Your Account
Some features require an account, which you create and access through our sign-in provider. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity that happens under your account. Please let us know promptly at support@bling.app if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
Health & Nutrition Disclaimer
bling helps you log meals, water, weight, and progress, and provides calorie and nutrition estimates. These estimates are automated approximations and may be incomplete or inaccurate. bling does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or nutritional counseling, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional. The Service is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Always consult a licensed healthcare or nutrition professional before making decisions about your diet or health, and seek immediate help for any medical concern.
Food Photos & AI Recognition
When you photograph or upload a meal, bling sends that image to be analyzed by automated and AI-assisted food-recognition technology so we can suggest foods and estimate nutrition. Results are estimates, may be wrong, and can be reviewed and edited before you save them. Please avoid capturing images that contain sensitive personal information unrelated to food tracking.
Your Content & License
You keep ownership of the photos, entries, and other content you add to bling (“Your Content”). You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the Service for you — for example, to store Your Content, process meal photos to generate estimates, and sync your data across your sessions. We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use it for advertising. You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to share it with us.
Acceptable Use
Please use bling lawfully and respectfully. You agree not to:
- upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that depicts other people without their consent;
- attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or resell the Service;
- circumvent security measures or access the Service or its data without authorization; or
- interfere with the normal operation of the Service or with other users.
Third-Party Services
bling relies on trusted third parties to operate — including a sign-in and authentication provider, cloud hosting, and AI food-recognition technology. Your use of these underlying services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for third-party services we do not control. If you purchase anything through an app store in the future, that store’s terms govern payment, renewals, and refunds.
Our Intellectual Property
The Service itself — including the bling name, logo, design, text, graphics, and software — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. Except for Your Content, nothing in these Terms gives you the right to copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service.
Termination
You may stop using bling at any time, and you can delete your account and eligible data directly in the app (Progress → Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing support@bling.app. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm others or us. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as disclaimers, limitations of liability, and ownership — will continue to apply.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Governing Law & Changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. We may update these Terms from time to time; when we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
